The annual Duinenmars in Kijkduin, near Scheveningen, is the walking event for young and old, full of fun and beautiful nature. This two-day walking march takes place every year on a Saturday and Sunday, attracting thousands of participants, from enthusiastic walkers to families looking for a fun day out.

What can you expect during the Duinenmars?

• Various Distances: Whether you're a beginner or an experienced walker, there's a distance for everyone. Choose from routes of 5, 10, 15, 25, or even 40 kilometres.
• Lively Start and Finish: The start is at the parking lot on Machiel Vrijenhoeklaan in Kijkduin, where there's always a buzzing atmosphere. It feels like a mini market, with various stalls and treats.
• History and Tradition: The Duinenmars was first organised in 1952 by the scouting group Admiraal de Ruijter. It has since grown into an event with between 13,000 and 15,000 participants each year!
• Beautiful Nature Routes: During the march, you’ll walk through the beautiful dunes and along the coast of Kijkduin, with views of the North Sea and the Scheveningen boulevard. Enjoy the soothing sound of the sea and the vast nature around you.
• Easy Participation Process: Taking part is very simple. You can register in advance via the Duinenmars website, but you can also join spontaneously! Just head to the start area, pick up your stamp card and route description, and you're ready to go.
• Activities for the Whole Family: Besides the walk, there’s plenty of fun at the start area. There are stalls, food trucks, and games for the little ones, so everyone can have fun, even if they’re not walking.
• Medal for All Participants: After completing your walk, you’ll receive a well-deserved medal in the big tent at the start area. A great memento of an active and fun day!
