On 5 May, The Hague celebrates freedom in grand style during the free Liberation Festival on the iconic Malieveld. Alongside thirteen other cities, the Royal City commemorates the end of the Second World War and highlights the importance of freedom worldwide.

What can you expect on the Malieveld?

  • Atmospheric music performances: Enjoy live music all afternoon and evening by well-known Dutch artists and local talent. A festive and inclusive vibe for all ages!
  • Informative and interactive activities: In addition to music, there are talks, discussions, and Freedom Lectures focusing on liberty, peace, and human rights.
  • Freedom meals & food trucks: Sit down in the grass for a shared meal or grab a bite from one of the many food trucks.
  • Fun for the whole family: There are activities for children too, including workshops, games, and creative projects on the lawn around the festival site.
