Pan van Persijn - Playground

Pan van Persijn, usually simply called Panbos, is a much-loved walking and play woodland on the edge of Katwijk. Hidden behind the dunes, between Katwijk and Wassenaar, it is a lovely place for families, walkers and nature lovers.
What can you expect in Panbos?
- Walking through woodland and dunes: Panbos has winding walking paths past deciduous woodland, open grass fields, ponds and dune-like sandy tracks. Ideal for a short walk or a relaxed stroll in nature.
- Play fun for children: Natural play areas are spread throughout the woodland, where children can climb, clamber, balance and build dens.
- Observation tower: From the observation tower, you have a beautiful view over the woodland and the surrounding dunes.
- Deer enclosure: A popular stop is the deer enclosure, where younger children in particular can see the fallow deer up close.
- Narrow-gauge train: On special running days, a narrow-gauge train travels through part of the woodland. A fun extra attraction for children.
- Animals and nature: The woodland is home to birds, rabbits and squirrels, among other animals. Every season gives Panbos its own atmosphere, from fresh spring greenery to colourful autumn leaves.
