A Tradition Since 1960
The New Year's Dive in Scheveningen is a long-standing tradition dating back to 1960. It has grown into the largest New Year's Dive in the Netherlands. Every year, between 7,000 and 10,000 participants brave the plunge into the cold North Sea, so you're certainly not alone!
Programme:
10:30: Start of registrations. Arrive on time to participate in this unique event.
11:45: Joint warm-up with music. Ensure you warm up and get into the mood with an energetic warm-up session.
12:00: The official start signal for the New Year's Dive. Dive in with hundreds of enthusiastic participants into the cool seawater.
Every participant in the New Year's Dive receives an iconic orange Unox beanie, a symbol of this traditional dive. After the dive, you can enjoy a delicious cup of hot pea soup, perfect to warm up after the chilly dive.
Participation costs only €4 per person, payable at registration on-site. Please note: advance reservation is not possible.
Tip
Given the average water temperature of about 5 degrees on New Year's Day, it's advisable to bring warm clothing. Wear a hat and join in the warm-up before the dive for an optimal experience.
Location
The event takes place on the beach of Scheveningen, near the sculptures of Beelden aan Zee. A beautiful location that contributes to an unforgettable start to the new year!
