Beginner's Surfing Lesson - Hart Beach Quiksilver Surfschool

This two-hour surf lesson in Scheveningen introduces you to surfing. It is run by Hart Beach Quiksilver Surfschool, with certified instructors who speak Dutch and English.

What can you expect at the surf lesson?

• Programme: You start on the beach with an explanation of safety in the water. Then you learn to read the waves, control your board and stand up, before catching your first waves yourself.
• Groups: You surf in a small group of up to six participants. The lesson is for anyone aged 16 and over.
• Equipment: You get a soft-top surfboard, a warm wetsuit and a helmet, plus gloves and boots in winter. There are changing rooms, warm showers and lockers.

Practical information

• What to bring: Bring swimwear and a towel.
• Meeting point: The lesson starts at the surf school on the Strandweg, close to the Pier.
• Nature: South of the harbour lies Westduinpark, a dune park with walking paths along the coast.
• Extras: You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours in advance.
